ABOUT
This is a digital version of my scrap-diary, where I can explore and document my creative proccess and personal studies 🎨
Hoi there :)
I’m Ayumi Kodato, a hāfu Brazilian-Japanese designer who grew up a little bit here and a little bit there between few countries, but currently living in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. I’ve always been drawn to art, whether through literature or visual communication, and over time design became the place where all of that could live together. I’m especially interested in strong, bold graphic languages and projects with personality; the kind that feel alive and carry history and attitude.
Growing up around different cultures shaped the way I see design: almost like a form of translation, turning ideas and identities into something visual people can connect with. I speak Portuguese, English, German (hochdeutsch, sorry Schwiiz fründen) and I can always deliver a confident “Bonjour madame, ça va?” when I need. My work often mixes graphic design with a more hands-on artistic approach, experimenting with typography, texture, and visual narratives; plus a long-standing crush on illustration, from my I-once-wanted-to-be-a-tattoo-artist-but-turns-out-I-suck-at-tattooing era.
Here I’m gonna talk and share about my experience being a creative girl 🧚🏼♀️
