This art project is the most important one to me :)
Since I was a little girl, I have this memory of my whole family gathered around a table playing cards. Even if you weren’t related by blood, you had to learn how to handle a deck to be considered a close friend or a true member of the family.
I wanted something that would challenge me and take me back to this tender place in my heart. This deck honors that tradition; creating art that people can use to make beautiful memories, just like the ones I have with my family.
The Guardians deck features 17 illustrations of characters from Brazilian folklore, the guardians of our land. It includes 55 poker cards with two Jokers and a paper with a brief explanation of each character’s legend.
